Say thank you: make it a magical Mother’s Day

Mothers-Day-Magic

Your mom gave you the world while you were growing up – and now it’s your turn to show her how very much you love and cherish her. Not that you need an excuse, but Mother’s Day is a reminder to lavish your mother with love and to honour her by treating her like royalty. What could be sweeter than her favourite breakfast in bed, a long and lazy lunch, or a thoroughly indulgent afternoon high tea – a loving family gathering during which she doesn’t get to lift a finger! You know what she loves to eat – how about serving her our veritable feast of Mother’s Day treats in the comfort of her own home, or yours? The thing to remember is that the focus for this day should be to make the time for bonding and building new family memories.

THE COLOUR OF LOVE
A wonderful way to bring an occasion together is to choose a visual theme. Whatever kind of celebration you are going to prepare this year, take inspiration from our carefully considered Mother’s Day colour palette: each hue represents a different aspect of the loving, complex, multidimensional women who nurtured us to adulthood. Here is our guide to celebrating your mother with a colour-coded message of love:

Pinks
The colour pink in all its hues represents unconditional love, nurturing and acceptance – making it the perfect symbol for Mother’s Day.

Purples
But because our mothers are strong, vibrant and passionate too, we’ve added Amethyst and Cassis to represent sensitivity, creativity, individuality and wit.

White and Cream
Our soothing Dune and Cotton ranges embody wholeness and simplicity, self-reliance and independence.

Remember, when it comes to your mother there is no such thing as too much sentimentality and love! This is the one day of the year you can feel free to go thoroughly overboard – trust us, your mom will love it.

COOK YOUR WAY TO HER HEART…
Make Mother’s Day magical, marvellous and more fun than you thought possible with our delicious, reliable, carefully tested recipes that are guaranteed to turn your meal into a celebration feast.

Fig Jam
With its heady aroma, rich sweetness and deep rosy colour, homemade fig jam is the perfect complement to a cheeseboard or ploughman’s platter. Ingredients are simple – fresh figs, balsamic vinegar and a dollop of honey and sugar – and the jam is really easy to simmer up in a saucepan on the stovetop. Add a finely chopped chilli if an extra kick is called for.

Potato Bake with Grilled Salmon Fillets
A silky, layered potato bake topped with grilled salmon fillets is a delicious way to show your mother how much you love her. Make and present it in a beautiful buffet casserole to really wow her. Although the potato bake takes about an hour in the oven to cook, preparation time is a quick 15 minutes so you’ll have loads of time on your hands for socialising with your family.

Fillet with BBQ Sauce, Roasted Potatoes and Caramelised Onion Wedges
Once you’ve discovered how easy it is to make your own barbecue sauce – and how delicious it is – you’ll add this sauce recipe to your kitchen repertoire (you can cook up the sauce while the veggies are roasting). A cast-iron Signature Roaster makes short work of cooking the steak: simply make it smoking hot on the stovetop, sear the meat all over, brush it with BBQ sauce and then pop it in the oven to roast for just 15 minutes. Once the meat has rested, serve the fillet with BBQ sauce, roasted potatoes and caramelised onion wedges in a single dish at the table.

This delectable slow-cooked French classic includes chicken pieces, bacon, pearl onions, garlic, cream, white wine and button mushrooms slow-cooked in our cast-iron casserole so that the individual ingredients melt together to form something really rather special!

PRESENT PERFECTION
One of our favourite tricks is to cook up a special meal for our mothers and then, once we’ve all enjoyed a marvellous meal together and done all (and we mean all) the washing up, to gift her with the gorgeous Le Creuset cookware the food was made in. Our range of enticing special offers means that, whatever your budget, you can celebrate your mum with a special Le Creuset spoil this year.

Remember: love is a doing word! Don’t just tell your mum you love her: show her exactly how much you care.
