Kitchen essential: 5 reasons to love our TNS shallow frying pan

Scrambled eggs in TNS shallow frying pan

You may wonder why our shallow nonstick frying pan is a kitchen essential. The answer is that a really good nonstick frying pan becomes an everyday hero: it allows you to use much less fat for frying, sautéing and caramelising; the shallow sides allow you to slide omelettes and perfectly fried eggs onto the plate without breaking or damaging them; the nonstick coating cuts down noticeably on the time and effort needed to get the pan clean; and – best of all – the TNS Shallow Frying Pan is versatile, easy to use and perfect for a wide variety of cooking styles and recipes.

Devotees say that it is an absolute essential for egg lovers: it is so easy to clean that when you’re whipping up breakfast you can take orders for fried eggs, omelette or French toast, and simply wipe down the pan with a paper towel in between each dish… there is no need to get busy in the sink. We suspect that once you invest in a TNS Shallow Frying Pan you will use it so often it will find a permanent place on top of your hob.

THE MUST-HAVE CHECKLIST

Experienced cooks will tell you that trying to cook a small amount of food in a pan that is too big allows the juices to spread and the food to dry out; equally, there is nothing more frustrating than a frying pan that is too small to contain your chef-d’oeuvre. Luckily, our TNS shallow frying pan is so popular that we’ve ensured it is available in five sizes – 20cm, 22cm, 24cm, 26cm and 28cm – to suit everyone, whether you’re cooking for a crowd or dinner for two. Convenience aside, there are at least five more important reasons to kit out your kitchen with this culinary masterpiece.

1. Extra-tough non-stick finish  Le Creuset’s unique mineral-reinforced, specially bonded, non-stick finish is applied on the interior and exterior of each TNS pan. This means you can use little or no fat for healthy cooking and food releases with ease, plus the TNS coating is so tough that you can even use your favourite stainless-steel utensils without risk of damage. Even better, we have ensured that our nonstick coating is 100% free of PFOA.

2. Versatile This long-lasting frying pan has a special hardened body that can be used on any heat source, from ceramic, electric and gas to induction stovetops. Use it on the hob, in the oven and under the grill, and then pop it in the dishwasher when you’re done. The fabulous TNS shallow frying pan is just what you need to fry up a full English breakfast, to caramelize onions until they are sticky and delicious, or to stir up a delicious pasta sauce.

3. Superior materials Our TNS pans are made from heavy-gauge forged aluminium that distributes heat evenly for excellent cooking results even over low to medium heat, plus the metal has been specially treated to provide a strong, toughened, durable finish that can be used on any heat source.

4. Durable handle constructionProfessional-style, stay-cool handles are securely attached with solid aluminium rivets, and they’ve been carefully designed to maximise control and grip while you cook.

5. Le Creuset lifetime guarantee Because we know our TNS pans are tough enough to withstand everyday use and we really believe in them, all our TNS pans have Le Creuset’s lifetime guarantee.

RECIPES

Maple Glazed Bacon and French Toast
No oil is needed to fry up this American breakfast classic that cooks to golden perfection in a TNS Shallow or Deep Frying Pan. Once the sourdough French toast is perfectly cooked over medium heat, arrange the bacon in the pan, drizzle with real maple syrup, and pop the lot under a hot grill until sticky and deliciously caramelized.

Breakfast in a Pan
With the TNS Shallow Frying Pan you can whip up this delicious full breakfast with minimum fuss and just one dirty pan to wash up afterwards. The trick is in the timing: start by sautéing the mushrooms, then pan-fry the chipolatas, next the vine tomatoes, and finish with the creamy scrambled eggs. Each successive component deglazes the pan as it cooks, adding layers of delectable flavour.
