Cutting Edge: Le Creuset’s new knife ranges

A recent addition to the Le Creuset range, this stylish collection of professional kitchen knives, with stainless steel or Damascus steel blades, is quality Solingen made and well-suited to cut, slice, chop and dice with ease. With a Rockwell hardness of 61, the knives can hold a finely sharp edge and easily perform any kitchen task.

DAMASCUS STEEL WITH OLIVE WOOD HANDLE

Crafted with a beautiful and durable Italian Olive wood handle, our knives feature 64 layers of Damascus steel folded around a core of VG10 steel. The raw shape of the handle is cut out from the wood and then shaped into its final shape by the handle maker. As it is a natural, grown material, – every wooden knife handle looks different and is unique. After shaping, the handles are conditioned/sealed in a warm paraffin bath. Due to use and washing, the olive wood will get a bit dry. You can condition your knife handle with olive or corn oil to maintain the initial shiny and smooth surface and colour of the handle.
