INGREDIENTS

1 ripe banana, mashed

70g applesauce, unsweetened

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon olive oil or melted coconut oil

285g wholewheat flour

45g oats

80g dried blueberries or cranberries

2 tablespoons dried parsley

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 150°C.

Line a Le Creuset Baking Tray with baking paper.

Place banana, applesauce, egg and oil in a large mixing bowl and whisk until well combined. Add the flour and oats and stir until a soft dough forms. Add the blueberries or cranberries and parsley and knead until dough comes together in a ball.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and roll to about 1cm thickness. Cut out bone-shapes using a cookie cutter, smaller bones for little dogs and bigger bones for large dogs. Place the biscuits on the lined baking tray and bake until golden brown and crisp (about 30-35 minutes for 7cm long dog bone shaped biscuits).

Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a Le Creuset cooling rack. Make sure that the biscuits are completely cool and dry before storing in the Le Creuset Treat Jar. The biscuits can be refrigerated or frozen.
