How to Mix & Match your Le Creuset Colours

Pick a Le Creuset colour – or colours – that enhance your décor, reflect your personality and embrace your entertaining style.

Professional chefs and keen cooks around the world agree – Le Creuset colours brighten up our lives. For nearly 100 years, Le Creuset has been the first, finest and favourite in quality, colourful cookware, reflecting a spectrum of timeless kitchenware tastes and trends developed through the decades and led as much by their own rich heritage as by the latest in kitchen and décor trends.

From classic Flame – first introduced in 1925 and inspired by the intense colour of molten cast iron before it was poured into molds, to the iconic Marseille, created to reflect the classic blue so familiar in France and more recent mesmerising shades like Sea Salt, Sage and now Fig, there’s no doubt that there is a Le Creuset colour for every cooking mood or entertaining moment.

Finding your Le Creuset Colour match

The beauty of the huge variety of Le Creuset colours in the cast iron, stoneware and silicone accessories ranges is that you can build on your décor and personality story with each and every purchase – adding layers of colour to your home as you go. For décor and kitchenware, shades and hues of blues and green are infinitely easy-on-the-eye (and a much loved choice of food stylists). Meanwhile, tones like Sea Salt, Sage and Coastal Blue are so complementary and create an easygoing ombré effect too.

How to Build your Colour Collection
Le Creuset’s vast selection of cast iron and stoneware shades speak to every kind of cook – from classically trained chefs (like Nigella Lawson and Julia Child who loved Flame) to keen home entertainers who like to mix things up.

Questions to consider

Q: Do you prefer sophisticated dinner parties or busy, festive get togethers?

Q: Is your décor style muted and minimalist or more on the eclectic side?

If muted and contemporary tones are your thing, then you’re more likely to want to assemble a collection of complementary neutrals (perhaps with a dash of one colour for visual interest) while an eclectic interior suits a mix-and-match personality perfectly.

Still not sure where to begin? Meringue and White are timeless options and will team beautifully with any other colour in the Le Creuset colour wheel while the likes of Flint and Matte Black are infinitely modern and can be teamed together as a stylish duo or with White for striking contrast.

Boldly Does It

Are get-togethers at your house boisterous, festive affairs and do you love decorating with colour? The classics like Cerise, Flame, Marseilles and Soleil are a fabulous foursome that bring a pop of fun and flair to any table or décor setting while you can always count on Caribbean Blue to be the life and soul of any table setting too. Deep Teal is a contemporary newer colour that will certainly be a focal point of any festivities.

Fabulous Fig

The newest of the Le Creuset colours is Fig – a rich and sophisticated hue of deep violet that stands proudly on its own but marries beautifully with shades like Meringue and Sage. Its earthy tone ensures it has timeless appeal with a refined edge – Fig is a gorgeous and opulent new addition to the Le Creuset colour collection.

Flame bamboo and meringue. Beautiful combination

I have a casserole in Oyster and a Dutch oven in Marseille. Wondering, is there a darker yellow that might go well with this?

    • Thank you for your query! Our honey-toned Nectar colour would be a beautiful choice.

  4. HolyP

I have Flame, Marseille and Deep Teal. Next purchase will be Soleil 🙂

Cerise is my absolute favourite colour but do I build an all cerise collection or mix with another colour in order to tone it down?

    • Thank you for your comment. An all-Cerise collection would be a bold and vibrant look, and ideal if you prefer to collect just one colour. As an alternative, you can pair it with a neutral such as Cotton or Meringue to tone down the warm colour of Cerise.

I also had the very same question!! My next choice was going to be either Oyster or Meringue. I did see Meringue a few months ago in store and fell in love with it if it is the color I think it was that I remember. I didn’t know if it would go since it is an ivory but now I think I have my answer since they did suggest it for you! (And it is so hard to ever find Cerise pieces half the time)
