How to Grow Indoor Plants and Herbs Easily

Filling your home with greenery adds more than just aesthetic appeal, you’ll reap health (and cooking) benefits too.

The health benefits of bringing the outdoors inside are plentiful: indoor plants help reduce toxins in the air and improve air quality, plus plants are shown to lower blood pressure, keep you energised and enhance sleep. And the benefit for keen cooks of course is that you can simply snip some fresh homegrown herbs from your planters, chop and pop them into the pan.

From miniature succulents to elegant orchids and fragrant herbs, having plants in your living space is an easy and rewarding way to stay in touch with nature, and Le Creuset’s collection of pretty planters mean you can add a pop of colour to your décor mix too.

Le Creuset planters are available in a rainbow of our signature colours – from bold brights to classic neutrals – and you can choose from the Le Creuset Herb Planters (14cm), Large Planter (18cm), or the  Set of 3 Classic Herb Planters with Tray (11cm).

Right now – until September 27, all of our planters are less 25%. Shop now!

Stylish succulents

The succulent trend is here to stay!

Group a variety of mini succulents into a single Le Creuset Herb Planter to create a little garden, or play with different sizes and shapes in a Le Creuset Set of 3 Classic Herb Planter. They will add a unique focal point to a mantle piece, side table or shelf.

Tip: A String of Beads succulent, with its cascading vines, looks magnificent on a shelf or mantel. Pot up three in the Le Creuset planter set for triple the impact!

Upsize it!

The Le Creuset Large Planter lets you amplify your plant collection by sizing up with larger plants. Trending right now are the statuesque Mother-in-Law Tongue, ZZ plant (famed for its turbo-boosted air-purifying qualities), and the sculpturally appealing Aloe Vera.

Treat plants as décor: focus on using them to highlight or add interest to a space; play with size, colour, height and shapes.

Tip: When grouping plants, use the rule of three!

Best planting methods

You’ll need:

  • Small pebbles
  • Potting soil
  • Trowel
  • Plant/s

How to:

  •  Line the bottom of the planter with small stones or pebbles to help with draining. There is a draining hole in the centre of your pot to ensure the soil is able to drain and to stop your plant’s roots  from rotting).
  • Add a generous layer of potting soil, then gently ease your plant out of its existing container and position your plant or plants.  Fill up with soil and gently press down to ensure plants are firmly secured in the soil.
  • Water immediately to help plants settle into their new home
  • Cherish and enjoy!

Tip: Place an old kitchen sponge in the bottom of the pot along with the stones to help the soil retain water longer.
