An exclusive event with Le Creuset & Bertus Basson at Overture

On Wednesday 29 April 2015, Le Creuset hosted an exclusive event for our lovely customers with Chef Bertus Basson at Overture Restaurant in Stellenbosch.

Guests were greeted on arrival with wine from Hidden Valley and delectable canapés. Canapés that were served included Bresaola with White Anchovy and Olives, Pumpkin Spoom with Cheddar and Courgette Tartlets with Smoked Aubergine.

2 5963 104Chef Bertus Basson gave an informative 3 course cooking demonstration based on the menu for the evening.

Starter was a comforting Cauliflower cream with sultanas, biltong and thyme which was served with a variety of freshly baked breads.

16 17This was followed by a middle course of Risotta Bianco with Gorgonzola, gremolata and parmesan crumbs.

Main course was Mareli’s slow cooked lamb shoulder with cauliflower and carrots – a perfect meal for a chilly evening in Stellenbosch.

Finally, for dessert, we were treated to Sous Kluitjies (in English this means Cinnamon Dumplings) which was served with a spectacular cardamom ice cream.
